As you play, you will encounter a number of NPCs who will offer you optional quests. Completing these quests might give you special cards, upgrades, items, or robobucks.

Some quests are relatively simple, while others only trigger under certain conditions and others hook into larger quest lines.

Default Quests

Each map will contain one of these quests, selected at random

P03face npc Cyclops.png
Do They Give Up?

This NPC tells you that he has heard rumors that P03 will sometimes surrender in battle, although he has never seen it for himself. He asks the player if they can force P03 to surrender a battle and then accept that surrender. This forces the player to forgo an opportunity at earning bonus Robobucks through overkill to complete the quest.

Successfully completing the quest will give the player an Improved Token as a reward.

P03face npc Rags.png
Too Easy...

This NPC taunts you, saying that you've been playing a game that's just too easy for you. He suggests you make the game harder; if you accept the quest, you will start the next three battles with one damage on yourside of the scales. Winning these three battles completes the quest and resets the scales to normal behavior.

Successfully completing the quest will cause one random card in your deck to gain the Unkillable sigil.

P03face npc Creepface.png
Lets Do Science

This NPC is researching the communication protocols of Botopia's various bots and wants the player to help them in their research. If you accept the quest, the NPC will give you a Radio Tower card and ask you to play it and protect it during battle. If you can keep it alive and on board for 5 turns (not necessarily consecutively or even in the same battle), you win the quest. If the card ever leaves your deck (through recycling or trading), you lose the quest.

Successfully completing the quest will earn you an Improved Token as a reward.

P03face npc BuildABot.png
Show Me Power

This NPC tells you that he wants to see what true power looks like. He wants you to bring him a card that has been gemified, received a Transformer upgrade, and has been skeleclocked. You don't need to give up the card; you just need to show it to him to complete the quest.

Successfully completing the quest will earn you 8 Robobucks, plus 1 for each completed map.

P03face npc Wirehead.png
Smuggler

This NPC will secretively ask you to participate in a little bit of digital piracy. If you accept the quest, he will add yarr.torrent to your deck; a useless card that has the Overclock sigil even though it doesn't have the bonus attack. You have to carry this useless card in your deck into the next zone before returning it to the NPC to complete the quest.

Successfully completing the quest will gain you an Improved Token as reward.

P03face npc Pipehead.png
Looking For A Job?

This NPC asks you for help, stating that he is attempting to acquire real, not metaphorical, power. If the player accepts the quest, the NPC will give them a Power Sink that they must leave on the board in a circuit for 4 turns in order for it to fully collect all the power that it needs.

Successfully completing the quest will gain you 5 Robobucks as a reward, as well as an Amplification Coil.

P03face npc Fishhead.png
Spare Some Cash?

This NPC asks you to donate some spare cash to help poor robots in need; specifically, 10 Robobucks. Making this donation concludes the quest.

If you complete this quest, you can find the NPC in the next map. While they can't repay you in cash, they can repay you in gems - two of your cards will be gemified at random.

P03face npc Faceless.png
I Love Bones!!

This NPC proclaims their love of bones to you, asking you to show them three bones. In order to complete this quest, you need to have 3 Brittle cards in your deck. One of the easiest ways to complete this quest is to Skeleclock cards and then use the hammer on them in battle, turning them into Exeskeletons.

Successfully completing the quest will get you a Skeleton Master.

P03face npc Goggles.png
Your Deck Is Too Small

This NPC seems to believe that your deck is too small and asks you to take steps to enlarge it. Once you add two more cards to your deck, he will be sufficiently pleased.

Successfully completing the quest will get you 8 Robobucks, plus 1 for each map you've completed.

P03face npc Leapbot.png
Glorious Leapbot

This NPC will only spawn if you have a L33pbot in your deck and you have blocked more than 7 damage total with it over the course of the run. Talking to him will cause all of the L33pbots in your deck to be upgraded to L33pB0t Neos.

P03face npc MrsBomb.png
Boom Boom Boom

This NPC wants to see just how much fun explosives can be. When you accept this quest, the next 3 battles you fight will be Explosive Battles, meaning that all non-vessel cards on both sides will have the Detonator sigil. You will need to win three battles under these conditions to complete the quest.

Successfully completing this quest will get you 5 Robobucks and a Mrs. Bomb's Remote.

P03face npc Steambot.png
Conveyor Field Trials

This NPC is working for a company that builds conveyor belts and wants you to help with testing them. If you accept the quest, the next three battles will be Conveyor Battles, which means the board state rotates clockwise once each turn. You need to win these three battles to finish the quest.

Successfully completing the quest will earn you 5 Robobucks and the Wiseclock item.

P03face npc Pyromaniac.png
Pyromania

This NPC only spawns if you have at least two cards in your deck with the Fire Strike sigil. He asks you to burn three cards to death - most likely because he has an unhealthy obsession with fire. Doing this will complete the quest.

Successfully completing the quest will earn you the Flamecharmer card.

P03face npc BountyHunter.png
Catch a Fugitive

This NPC is trying to catch an escaped fugitive but is having trouble with the task. He asks you for your help; if you accept, the Bounty Target will appear in battles. It has high health and will run away from each battle it appears in; however, damage dealt to it will persist across battles. Once you finally do kill it, the quest is finished.

Successfully completing the quest will earn you a Basic Token with the Sniper sigil, allow you to draft a card that will have the Sniper sigil added to it.

P03face kaycee.png P03face librarians.png
Retrieving Kaycee's Friend

After interacting with Kaycee, she will inform you that Sawyer has been wrapped in the Archivist's cult and asks you if you can get him out. After talking to Kaycee, you can go to the Librarians who say that they will only return Sawyer to you if you complete a task for them. Then, they give you three Paperwork cards and ask that you file and stamp them order. In order to file them, you have to play them on the board in order of Alpha, Beta, and Gamma (left to right - all three must be on board at the same time), before then stamping them with their activated sigil.

After completing the quest, you will get Dogbot as a reward.

P03face npc TrapperSolo.png P03face npc TraderSolo.png
Collecting Fine Pelts

After interacting with the Trapper, he will inform you that he is out of pelts as catchings have been slim and asks that you get some pelts for him in exchange for a reward. After starting the quest, trapping minigames, like those found in Act 3, appear aound the map that will require accurate timing in order to acquire the pelt. After getting all the pelts, you can go back to the Trader and get your reward.

After completing the quest, you will get Fishbot as a reward.

P03face dredger.png
The Dredger's Challenge

After interacting with the Dredger, he will ask you to begin a battle with him since he wasn't able to during Act 2. After interacting with him again, the battle will again. During the battle, he will play Steambots without Armored, Urch1n Conduits, Conduit Towers, and Buff Conduits. Additionally, he will occasionally play Scrap Piles directly on the field which become a random card when killed.

After defeating the Dredger, you will get Melter as a reward.

P03face nochange.png
...

After interacting with the Dummy twice, P03 will get frustrated and add the Dummy to your deck as the Training Dummy. This dummy is a mostly useless card, but it contains the true prize within. In order to complete the quest, you will have to destroy the dummy (without using the hammer).

After destroying the dummy, you will get Lonely Wizbot as a reward.

Secret Quests

Spoilericon.png WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the Mycologists' questline.
P03face spearwizard.png
Save My Friend

Amber can be found in a secret room on the first map you visit. She is worried about her friend, although she doesn't explain too much about who exactly she's looking for. The friend she's looking for is Goobert, the green mage who has been turned into goo and stored in a glass bottle. Once you've talked to her, you will find Goobert is available for sale at the next item node you visit. If you return to Amber with Goobert, she will tell you that it is too dangerous for her to carry Goobert, and asks you meet her later, giving you a cryptic clue about which map you should find her in.

If you choose to go to that map as the second map in your quest and find Amber, she will thank you and take Goobert, giving you 13 Robobucks and a Data Cube as a reward. However, if you want to reach the secret Mycologists boss fight, you will need to keep Goobert with you and not return him to Amber.

P03face inspector.png
Broken Generator

The Inspector can be found in a secret room on the second map you visit. He is particularly concerned because a power generator is at risk of overloading and exploding, although he's powerless to do anything about it. In the same room that you find him, you will also find a Generator battle; if you can deal 12 damage to the generator within 6 turns, you will cause it to power down and prevent the explosion. Otherwise, the generator will break down and fail.

The inspector will pay you 6 Robobucks for your trouble. Additionally, repairing the generator is one of the three prerequisites for reaching The Mycologists. Furthermore, if you can repair the generator in less than 4 turns, then you will receive the Burning Adrenaline achievement.

P03face prospector.png
Gold!!

The first Bounty Hunter you encounter in Botopia will drop a Hunter Brain when you kill it. If you finish the battle without destroying the brain, it will be added to your deck. And if you have it in your deck, you will eventually encounter the Prospector in your travels. He will offer to upgrade the brain for you, converting it to an Activated Hunter at no charge.

However, if you wish to reach The Mycologists, you will need to avoid doing business with the Prospector as having an unactivated Hunter Brain is one of the three prerequisites for reaching that boss fight.
